Historic Photographer of the Year 2022 received over 1,200 entries from professional and amateur photographers alike. The shortlisted entries ranged from beautiful cathedrals bathed in sunlight to stunning ancient desert temples. The judges based their rankings on originality, composition and technical proficiency alongside the history behind the image.
The creativity and talent on show was second to none. It was a pleasure to see the diverse range of disciplines photographers used to highlight history including landscape, urban and aerial photography. I can’t wait to see what work is entered into next year’s competition. – Dan Snow
