Located within a stunning Victorian mansion nestled in the grounds of Kilnburn Park, St Andrews Museum offers a unique insight into the history of the sea and university town with a series of lively temporary exhibitions.

The Museum also holds a permanent collection of objects of historical value that are related to the town.

All of the above help to tell St Andrews’ story from the 12th century to its current day incarnation as a major university hub and the spiritual home of golf.

The Museum today

In addition to the historical exhibitions, St Andrews Museum offers various live events and workshops for children. These include talks from curators and historical specialists, as well as live concerts.

The Kinburn Gallery also offers a diverse programme of rotating exhibitions meaning there is always something new for locals and visitors to St Andrews to discover.

There is also a café in the park for visitors to purchase refreshments as well as small museum shop with plenty of engaging and memorable souvenirs.

Getting to St Andrews Museum

St Andrews museum is located next to several of the University of St Andrews’ department buildings, just south of St Andrews Links and the iconic Hamilton Grand building.

You will find the Museum at the end of a cul-de-sac coming off Doubledykes Road, adjacent to St Andrews Tennis Club.

This site also has full disability access and parking, with disabled toilets and wheelchairs available.
